Mid Year Quilt Progress

On Instagram there was a hashtag for midyear roundup of projects.  I went through all my photos and put together collages of everything I have finished this year (with some exceptions).  The collages are not in a particular order.

In this collage they were all UFO's except the middle one and the middle right.  Those are baby quilts I started and finished this year.

This collage has five projects started and finished this year.  The bookcase quilt, the triangle baby quilt, the roses baby quilt, the flower wallhanging and Sew Many Strips is a top, not a finished quilt.  It had so much piecing I included it, but it is now a UFO!

The 4 patch quilt and the pinwheel tablerunner were new proejcts this year, the others were UFO's and a couple of them were OLD.

These are 9 of the 10 quilt tops I made for my friend's quilt shop as shop samples.  Thankfully I didn't have to quilt them!
Now to see what I do for the second half of the year!

Kaffe Fassett Blocks and a finish

I joined a block swap on Instagram using Kaffe Fassett fabrics.  There are 14 members in my group and we make one for each person in their color choices.  I have not yet made my own block because I will look at the others when they come back and see what I need to finish.  I am mailing these out this week!  No two are alike and I didn't really make a dent in my Kaffe stash!  But I have gotten some ideas for more quilts!  Two are going to Canada and two to Australia.

I have been doing a LOT of outside work and have had a variety of appointments with three more this week.  I finished up a quilt that was basted in my last basting party.  It was quick and easy.  It is not a quilt top I made, but was from my quilt guild.  I am a charter member from the early 90's but can rarely make it to a meeting since they are in the day time.  I quilted and bound this top and it will be donated to some organization.  I did simple organic quilting

You should not attempt to take outside pictures on a windy day!

Finished Projects and a Big Mess

In an earlier post I showed small quilts that I was finishing during a quiltathon.  They are completely finished and I'm working on the last label.   Here they are with binding.

I pieced the backing for my Tula Pink City Sampler using all the leftover fabrics.  I have just small scraps left.  Now to get it basted and quilted!

Today being it was MLK Civil Rights Day/Day of Service, I started a child's quilt using my box of 2" squares.  I don't have anything to show for that.  I also pressed my pile of hourglass units I have been working on as leaders and enders.  They were all triangle cutoffs from a large quilt I made for the American Hero project a few years ago.  I got them pressed, but not trimmed.

Now to the Big Mess.  Over the years I made many quilts for the American Hero quilt project.  I have collected blocks from people and made blocks and threw them all in a bin with assorted fabrics, a lot of them donated.   It's deceptive but that is a large gray tote underneath.  I am now switching gears and making a couple Quilts of Valor for a local presentation, then will go back to the American Hero project.  I have two Army officer nephews currently serving.  I had fully intended to dump out the bin and do some sorting today to see what I really have but other things came up today.
